Andria & Hogan Sherrow

Executive Director & Director Respectively

Andria and Hogan Sherrow started The Empower Campaign while finishing their graduate work in Uganda in 2004. When Hogan was hired at Ohio University in 2006, they brought Empower with them to Athens. Empower is now on four campuses throughout Ohio, and provides students with a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience, while making a difference in the lives of some of Africa’s most vulnerable children.

Tugume Kenneth

Empower Kibale Program Coordinator

Tugume Kenneth is the Program Coordinator for Empower Kibale projects. He is a managing officer for Kabarole Tours and Safari's Ltd in Fort Portal, Uganda and a student at Mountains of the Moon University majoring in Social and Community Development.

Crystal Edmunds

Board Member, EDUCATE Foundation, Inc.

Crystal (Pistol) Edmunds, an Office of Surface Mining AmeriCorps member, started in April 2012 as a watershed coordinator with the Coal Creek Watershed Coalition in Crested Butte, CO, part of the Western Hardrock Watershed Team. Crystal is from Perrysburg, OH and attended Ohio University in Athens, OH. She graduated with a BS in Journalism and a Global Leadership Center certificate in 2009, and finally made it to CO for graduate school at the University of Denver to study international economics and geographic information systems. In school she interned at Water for People, an organization that focuses on the development of locally-sustainable drinking water resources, sanitation facilities, and hygiene education programs in 11 lesser-developed countries. She is an aspiring farmer, yogini and professor-- and feels beyond blessed to be a part of Educate Foundation, Inc.

Jacqlyn Breymaier

Board Member

M.A. Public Policy and Management 2012, John Glenn School of Public Affairs at The Ohio State University. Jacqlyn is from Toledo, OH, and attended Ohio University in Athens, OH. Jacqlyn met Andria through Crystal Edmunds during her Sophomore year at OU, and became an intern for The Empower Campaign. Jacqlyn graduated with a BS in English and a Global Leadership Certificate in 2010. While in graduate school Jacqlyn interned at The Women's Fund of Central Ohio, an organization that works to empower women and girls throughout Ohio. Jacqlyn is beyond proud to be a part of Educate Foundation, Inc. and The Empower Campaign family.
