Development Intern
Location: Nashville, TN
Type: Paid Internship – Part-time (15-20 hours/week)

CreatiVets’ mission is to empower wounded veterans to heal through the arts and music.CreatiVets’ goal is to offer opportunities for relief and healing for the men and women who have sacrificed so much for our country. Our purpose is to use various forms of art, including songwriting, visual arts, music, and creative writing, to help disabled veterans cope with service-related trauma (i.e., post-traumatic stress, or PTS) by fostering self-expression in a way that allows them to transform their stories of trauma and struggle into an art form that can inspire and motivate continued healing. Through compassion, we are helping veterans live again.
We’re looking for a highly organized and proactive Development Intern to assist in identifying fundraising opportunities, researching potential grants, and helping build meaningful relationships with potential donors and partners. This role is ideal for someone interested in nonprofit development, fundraising strategy, or corporate partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
Research potential grant opportunities, donors, and funding sources aligned with our mission
Assist in building and scaling our development and grant writing processes
Generate leads by researching and contacting potential donors
Conduct outreach to food and beverage brands and other companies for small-scale donations or in-kind contributions
Support ongoing fundraising campaigns and strategic development efforts
Assist with administrative tasks related to fundraising and development
Attend occasional in-person meetings and community activations/events (location-based)
Qualifications:
Strong research, writing, and communication skills
Interest in nonprofit development, fundraising, or philanthropy
Highly organized and detail-oriented
Comfortable with vendor outreach (phone calls & emails to vendors & donors
Experience/interest in promotion, sales, or fundraising
Experience with event planning for a non-profit or for profit organization
Demonstrated skills in effective one-on-one and group communications and comfort with working professionally with all levels of community leaders, volunteers, and staff
Proficient in multiple social media platforms
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment managing multiple priorities involving multiple entities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (or Google Workspaces) and Canva
